Four of WLC Ltd’s technical staff have a PhD. The fifth is working towards his. We therefore have an in-depth understanding of research methodology and techniques. At the same time, we all have considerable industrial experience, both in our previous employment and through working with WLC Ltd. We are therefore uniquely placed to provide creative yet pragmatic solutions to problems faced by the construction industry and its clients.
We have been responsible for:
deriving labour coefficients (person years per £m of construction value) from a detailed analysis of ONS statistics
using the labour coefficients to create the award winning labour forecasting tool
formulating equations to allow the calculation of the estimated level of supply of qualified workers in the construction industry
developing novel and unique productivity improvement programmes
quantifying the effect of delays and disruption on labour productivity
providing expert advice to clients involved in contractual disputes
tailoring Integrated Logistics Support, a powerful risk-based asset management technology first used in the aerospace industry, for use in the construction industry
designing powerful, generic whole life costing software
developing an Integrated Sustainability Assessment Toolkit that allows the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainability to be assessed simultaneously and holistically throughout the life of an asset.
contributing to international standards on cost management and whole life costing
writing reports on specific topics for national and local government organisations and for a wide range of clients in the private sector.
We pride ourselves on solving problems others cannot solve.
